The Belgian Royal Family has remembered lost relatives at a traditional church service held annually. 

King Philippe and Queen Mathilde attended the annual Mass at the Church of Notre-Dame de Laeken, a service held to honour family members who have passed. 

The Mass is held at the Brussels church each year with several family members in attendance. This year the King and Queen of the Belgians were joined by King Albert II and Queen Paola, Prince Laurent and Princess Claire, Princess Delphine and her husband, James O’Hare, Princess Esmeralda, and Princess Lea. 

King Philippe and Queen Mathilde’s four children- Princess Elisabeth, Prince Gabriel, Prince Emmanuel, and Princess Eleonore- were not at the service. 

Queen Mathilde turned to a trusted designer, Christian Dior for the day. She wore a navy, double-breasted, full length military-style coat from the French house and a coordinating pillbox hat. 

The Queen of the Belgians finished her look with navy gloves when she was greeting waiting crowds outside and a pair of Dior pumps. 

Queen Mathilde has had a busy February. Last week she carried out a three-day trip to Costa Rica in her role as Honorary President of UNICEF Belgium.
